WHAT TO SEND
Q. What is a “Trade Printer”? What is the benefit to me?
A.A trade printer deals only with others in the trade, such as other printers, graphic artist, brokers and publishers. We employ no sales staff, meaning no one from Fidelity will ever call on your customer directly. We keep your accounts strictly confidential. top
Q.What quantities are best for web presses?
A.With our wide variety of web presses, Fidelity can be competitive on jobs ranging from a simple one color job of 10,000, up to millions of full color pieces. Call us! top
Q.What types of stocks are available?
A.We generally stock most grades and weights of commodity offsets and gloss books. We can run stock as light as 38# coated groundwood all the way up to some cover weights, although cover weights are sometimes difficult to purchase in rolls, as are some of the more exotic finishes and colors. These are sometimes available through paper converters. We purchase in truckload quantities on many stocks and are able to pass this savings on to you. top
Q.What type Bindery or in-line finishing does Fidelity offer?
A.We can do quite a bit of in-line finishing such as pattern perfing, scoring, die-cutting of starbursts and hole punch, Although we do not perform finished binding in house we can supply you bindery with folded 4 page, 8 page and 16 page sigs. Fidelity will be more than happy to work with the bindery of your choice or handle it for you. top
Q.What is the preferred file format to send my job as?
A.The prep department prefers that you send your files in PDF format with all fonts topembedded.
Q.Should I send a proof with my files?
A.Yes. Although we do make a proof from our system though it is beneficial to check our proof against yours to catch any differences that could arise before we send your job to plate. top
Q.Is it ok to send RGB images in my job?
A.Our system can separate RGB files however to ensure the best reproduction of your job convert your image files to CMYK prior to sending your job to us. top
Q.Can I send documents that bleed?
A. If your job requires a bleed make it an 1/8 of an inch outside of the crop marks and leave 1/4 of an inch gutter without any design content on the inside. If your job does not have a bleed leave 1/4 of an inch white space on all sides. top
